Heavy metals in family orchards of the NGO ‘‘A roof for my country’’
Keywords:
heavy metals, orchards, argentine regulationsAbstract
The objective of the work is to study the heavy metal content: Cd, Cr,Ni, Pb and Zn in organic orchards in two districts of Escobar (Buenos Aires), in the frame of a project of the NGO ‘‘A Roof for my country’’.The main limiting factors of antropic origin were filling materials, trash, and construction materials. The average and maximum values for all metals were acceptable for argentine regulation. According tointernational soil quality guidelines, Cd and Pb resulted of most concern, taking into account risks to human health. Multivariate analysis separated the population in two groups, one of them highlighted the sample 1 with highest values for Cr, Ni and Cd, and the situation 10 with elevated values for Pb, Zn and Cu.Downloads
